Please clarify your comment. A Nook HD+ is an Android based tablet that I can use to surf the web, email, watch video, read books, and download and install any of thousands of apps from the Google Playstore. The one thing it cannot do is mow lawns.

Apple makes an adapter that takes an SD card that you can move pix into the iPad, but I dont think the reverse

There are printers now that will let you print from your iPad. Look for full compatibility with Airplay. My last one only printed photos. Brother Laser that I just bought let's me print anything.

If you have a Mac, you can use the Capture app to move photos directly from an IOS device. Per apple's website you can do it on Windows 7 or 8 as well but it links you to Microsofts site for directions. You do need to have to change settings on iPad. See the apple link first even if you are on Windows.

Yes, the charging cable is the one you need. And, yes, wifi will work too. But as somebody else already mentioned, the cable is better. You will also need to download iTunes if you haven't got it, as that is the software you need to transfer stuff back and forth. Do be aware that, unlike early iPods, the iPad is NOT intended to double as an external drive, thus it won't simply let you move files back and forth. But iTunes does enable you to move music, videos, and photos back and forth.

I have an Android tablet, and there are Android apps from the Google Playstore that let me transfer any kind of file between my Windows PC and Android tablet. Isn't there a similar app store for your tablet? (My dumb question). BTW, WiFi is used for the transfer, no cables are involved.

That's correct, iTunes is the software that communicates with your iPad or iPhone, whether it be a Mac or a PC. Millions of Windows users do it everyday. (All but the paranoid people who always think Apple is out to get them.)
