- MarkTwainExplorerStrange new phenomenon. When I turn on the computer, I hear radio sounds, voices, ads, talk show stuff. It stays on all the while I go from site to site. I didn't ask for this. Called Comcast and they said not from them. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
Just a wild shot, go to your apps and check any music or radio stations you might have listening to but forgot to turn it off when you closed up. - aslaksonExplorerEither:
Somehow, you've installed some kind of software that's bringing in the audio OR you're parked really near an AM radio station, and your computer's audio card or speakers is picking up the signal.
Make sure the laptop isn't connected to the internet. If the sounds then go away, do a malwarebytes scan and find the culprit. If the sound remains, see what happens when you move the computer around. If you have external speakers, unplug them and/or turn them off.
Maybe one of your neighbors has installed some wireless speakers and that signal is somehow getting into your computer - highly unlikely, since the signal pretty much has to be an AM signal. Howevere, if you're using wireless speakers and somebody else nearby is also using wireless speakers, they could cross-pollinate.
Good luck. It can be really annoying and frustrating trying to solve that kind of a problem.
al - rexabbotExplorerI have sliding glass windows pick up like that.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIi would say a local ham with an illegal transmitter..but not with ads.
- tmmarExplorerIt's a virus. You should restore to a point back to before it began. Also run a virus scan as well.
Good luck
