i googled this question. the answer was you have to switch to 'car mode'. in rv mode the vet icon always stays on.
i also found out that car mode gives you the most efficient routes. it said you should switch to rv mode'only when you need some specific rv information'
The VET icons are visible in both car and RV modes. I called Rand McNally and they said there was no way to get rid of them. The reason the car mode gives you a simpler route is because it is not routing you around areas that would be difficult to navigate with an RV. I only go to the RV setting when towing. I just wish it had a brighter screen as it is almost impossible to read in the daylight.
