Thanks, would you recommend another GPS?

I have an early model 7710.
It is a very good GPS. You must download the current software right after you get it.
It uses what I consider a mapping software rather then programs like in my wife's Garmin.

Could you go into a bit more detail with that statement? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

The Garmin system doesn't show other roads until you zoom into a tight scale. The 7710 shows alternate routes.
So if traffic is backed up, you can see streets, highways or roads that can get you around the problem area.

I purchased one from CW about 18 months ago. First one was defective out of the box. Second one worked, but after using Garmin for years, I just couldn't get used to it. I sold it for 1/2 price after getting very frustrated with it during a couple of trips. I use my old Garmin, and it works great.
