Rand McNally RVND 7725

Actually, you can get rid of them without losing the rest of the POIs... with a caveat.

(Note: this is for my 7710, hopefully your 7725 is the same.)

1) Connect your RM to your PC using the USB cable but do NOT have the docking software running.

2) Your PC should mount the RM as a disk drive and give you the option of viewing the files on the RM.

3) Open the RM in File Explorer. You should see several folders and files.

4) Doubleclick on the "RM" folder, then the "Data" folder.

5) Locate the PetPOI.DB file and simply delete it.

Now they won't show up on your map but you will still have your other POIs.

The caveat: any time you update your RM (with construction info, new maps, running the Diagnostics etc) it will reinstall the PetPOI.DB file and you'll have to go back in again to delete it. However it is not that difficult because when you finish an update you can go directly to your File Explorer and you should already see the GPS mounted as a disk and follow the above steps at that point... no need to unplug/replug etc.

Thanks to all of you! Don't have a dog any more but at least I know what the icon is for. Just got back from a month on the road pulling a 36" fifth wheel travel trailer and my RVND 7725 worked great!

i don't have your unit and was trying to be helpful.

I assume you tried this but page 11 of manual says settings for Rv icons.

telling you this just in case you have not tried this.

The VET icons are visible in both car and RV modes. I called Rand McNally and they said there was no way to get rid of them. The reason the car mode gives you a simpler route is because it is not routing you around areas that would be difficult to navigate with an RV. I only go to the RV setting when towing. I just wish it had a brighter screen as it is almost impossible to read in the daylight.

Have the same issue. They are Vet. clinics. There IS NO WAY TO GET RID OF THEM!!

I believe you have to turn off POIs. I can try to find tomorrow if need be.

If you touch on the icon it will tell you what it is.
Dog print is vet offices.

I want to say those are the locations for veterinarian offices. I can't recall how I got rid of those icons.
