Rayzar

If you folks who have one or a lot of knowledge please discuss this Winegard Rayzar (razar?) antenna. We just bought this coach and can find only two channels. Couple of questions- 1) Must the coach be set level for the antenna to find stations like the satellite antenna on the previous coach. 2) what is a 'normal' time for the search to take place? Some place in there I am sure there is a time for the power boost to me on.
Generally I need to hear from folks who operate these things regularly, and the routine you use setting up. I have read the literature included with the coach, but I cannot get it to find nearly as many stations as the sales person did.
Thanks in advance

I will likely have questions about the satellite system when we get to the point of using that while in motion
. Thanks again
  • The antenna is actual a pretty good antenna. The mounting design is where I've had issues. The unit is way to short for the antenna to function properly as it;s often squished in an area that was designed for an antenna (usually replacing some crank up model) with a higher profile. There use to be a stand you could buy that elevated it off the roof. Word has it that people reported roof damage due to strong wind forces under the antenna when driving causing roof damage. I also suspect that some forgot to re-measure and the antenna on stand was not their highest point of their RV and we all know what can happen when you underestimate the height. I no longer see that mount sold by the manufacture.
  • Manufacturers are getting away from the batwing for ease of installation of other options. They really don't care about your results with one or the other.
  • Being all automatic and inside a dome mite be very impressive, but if it doesn't perform as good as the ole Batwing-man w/ sensor pro, then what do you have ?......not saying there's not another problem.
  • I don't know the model. This is a 2016 Nemmar coach Canyon Star 3911. The paperwork says "Rayzar Automatic" and the quick start guide says it is for RX 7500/7535, 8500/8535.
I will try to look further come daylight

THe coach need not be level. For the antenna but should be for other reasons.

Rayzar as the other poster said has 3 models one is omni and that one is basically (like all Omni's) ****. the others are better.. but none of them measure up to the Sensar IV.
