I have some recent experience with Verizon and this issue. We currently have Verizon with the MIFI and ours cost us $70 per phone per month. (2 phones). We signed up for the FMCA new discounted plan for Verizon for $50 per month for 27 gig. Spent about 1/2 hr with the VZ operator to learn that we couldn't cancel our $70/ month and add the FMCA special She said we could get the $50/month deal but it would be ontop of our current plan. We just changed phone last November and purchased them so we would not be on any long term plan. I asked if we dropped Verizon could we then get the FMCA wireless plan. She said that could work. My expectations from Verizon are extremely low; and they met them.
