Remote temperature monitoring

I have no experience with it and didn't check all details, but it looks like it could send an email or text to your phone from a laptop inside the camper if temp exceeded a certain threshold.

Take a look at this, it's what i use. Has a phone app and a web interface. Will do an alert on temp or power change both email and text message. Does not use wi-fi. Uses the Verizon network, you do not add it to a personal account that is included in the $14.99 per month monitoring fee.

I use the "Dog Monitor" app which works on iphone and android. My android tablet has wireless data service. I launch the app on the tablet and select Dog Station and set a digital thermometer in the video view with the dog in the kennel in the back ground. I can monitor the temperature and dog from my iphone by launching the app and selecting "Person Station" while we are gone.

For a little over 100 bucks(?), you can get a Temp alarm, a Phone Link and a throw away Cell phone....if you do a search here you will see the description of this system I've been using for year's now. Simply put, as long as you have Cell service, this system will call you if the power fails or a temp limit is reached. The fact that it notifies you of a power failure is pretty nice because it can give you that extra bit of time before the temp's get out of hand. I think the extra Cell phone cost me 30.00 a year to keep it active on the Verizon Network.

I use a USB temp probe that I got on ebay and log into the RV's PC with chrome desktop remote to check the temp. We also have a thermometer in the windsheild so passers by can see it. Most camp hosts don't mine looking at it when they make their rounds.

We use a La Crosse TX60U-IT. It works great...IF...you have wifi.

If you had a power failure it would knock out your wifi too.

The app Alfred also works well and it is free.

This thing is neat! The dogs don't like it though because we can tell them to hush.:) How do you measure temp with it...don't see that as an option.

Excellent point. If OP has a generator, get an auto gen start. Their are auto start systems, like Magnum's, that can start the gen on either low voltage or high temps.
