RV Tv's

We are looking at fifth wheels right now. On some of them the TV's are an option. Why are they $750.00 for a 32" TV? I am in the A/V business and can get 32" TV's, top of the line Samsung's for $200.00 or so. If we will never be boondocking and always plugged into shore power, why not just use a good residential TV?
Thanks
  • Because there are lots of people out there with more money than sense, and the game is to get as much of it as they can. Good residential TVs are available much cheaper(Wally World, best Buy...) and will work just as well. We have installed three of them so far. Visio works well. If you do have to have to use 12v only, options are an inverter, or a 12v capable set.
  • Those "junk Jensen's" all have sealed components in them to protect from shock, cold and hot weather. They're anything but cheap junk! Residential TV's aren't exactly designed to go bumping down the freeway at 65mph or down dirt roads, or left in sub freezing conditions in the RV. Jensen's are. They also make superior maritime electronic equipment too!
  • That's fine. They usually put junk like Jensen in them (or the cheapest TV they can find.)
