This has nothing to do with Comcast. If you are on one of Verizon's "regular" tiered plans, it won't effect you.

First Comcast, now Verizon have secret shadow numbers. When the customer crosses the secret data number they are warned. It may be the first or only warning. Comcast has played the data cap game for years. The number seems to change with the market (city). Comcast claims there are no data caps until the customer violates the data cap. Makes no sense. Verizon appears headed in that direction. No hard numbers.

Other companies have pulled similar shenanigans. Comcast was an easy comparison against Verizon.

  • This seems like a Comcast thing. No details on what qualifies for excessive data. I average 30-40gb per month. Is that too much? No data sharing. No tether. I pay full price for the phone to stay within the Verizon Guidlines. Google Fi looks better and better.
