I called Verizon the day before and said I was still having a problem and was not told that it was a known issue until I called the next day. How many times do you need to call them before they admit there is an issue with a phone. The reason I got the S3 is we had two HTC Incredibles DROIDING all night. They kept telling me it was normal, then after many calls that it was HTC's fault. I resolved it by asking what my payout was. They let me upgrade to the S3 at several hundred dollars since I purchased the 32 gb version. The Razr HD is 16gb. After more calls and threats to leave, they let my wife upgrade to a Iphone 4.
I'd go here and tell your story. See if you can get more insight. I don't suggest VZW would ever try to to pull the wool over your eyes.
It took dozens of calls for this issue last June. Droiding post a year ago
Similar Droiding post by someone else about the same time
So YES, they were pulling the wool over my eyes and did a great job of it this time since I had no clue it might be the phone.
I have no idea where you want me to post this issue, but this post was only an FYI for those of you trying to use the S3 as a hotspot and experiencing the same problem. There is nothing I can do about it since it is a done deal, so I am going to move on.
Thank you for the suggestion.
