Unfortunately from my experience with multiple different brands, once bricked, they are not coming back to life..
Had three identical MP3 players of one brand, one for my DW, one for my DD and one for myself.. Eventually one by one the firmware corrupted and no more response.. Tried reinstalling firmware but no success.
The Sansas are basically throwaway players anyways like any other player that have a non replaceable rechargeable battery and it bites the dust.
Don't get me wrong, those are nice players, DW bought one when her other player died.. Menus are nice and is compact in size but it may be time to move on..
