Sat Dish Heater

Rich, sorry about all the jokesters! We have the exact problem several times each winter. I have taken a large heavy duty black garbage bag and put it over the dish and it usually lasts thru the winter.

The idea came to me as we usually installed covers over our microwave antennas in the mountains. This in my younger years when I owned a communications company. Like you, I can no longer get on a ladder, even if it is not freezing-ass cold!!! :B

I thought I read someplace that you can just tape a chunk of plastic wrap over the face of it to keep snow off.

It took me about 5 minutes to duct tape a car snow brush to a length of PVC pipe to clean off my neighbor's roof mounted dish. I'm only 72 though... :B

Have had Sat TV since it first came out in Canada about 20 years ago.
Get lotsa snow and I bet I have had to sweep it off about 4 times. Only because it was wet heavy stuff. Its the moisture in it, like how rain knocks it off air sometimes. Usually works fine with several inchs of snow on it.
If your loosing signal frequently in a bit of snow, I think your aim is off..

We're sorry. Get a ladder...and maybe a long broom, a leaf blower, or some kind of torch. Check youtube.
