That one is easyl.. There are three satellite finders I will talk about and one more "Class" of meters I have not personally used but have seen"
First is the roughly 30 dollar IN LINE meter which you likely have.... JUNK period It will find lots and lots of satellites.. Exactly ONE of which you want.
Next is DirecTV's meter (The Antenna pointing page in the set up menu) It is better cause it too will find lots of satellites but it will tell you WRONG ONE.
Finally there is DISHnetwork... It not only tells you right or wrong bird, but WIHCH BIRD it found so you know which way to adjust.. IN fact it is as good as the "Class"
Meters like the BIRD DOG which is the professional version (there are personal use that are cheaper) that tell you which bird you found.. JUST LIKE THE SOFTWARE IN THE DISH RECEIVER. and of course how strong the signal.
My recommendation: A small battery operated color TV hooked to an outside TV port and the software in your Receiver.. Just hook it up and watch the green line.
