Just bought a 2013 DRV Tradition. Outside hookups include Sat1, Sat2 and cable. Inside cabinet near main tv there are several coax pigtails labeled Sat1, Sat2,Roof Sat, Receiver and a couple of more. I hooked up a Satellite receiver to pigtail Sat1 and that worked with the main TV. Got another satellite receiver for the bedroom TV and found a coax plate behind the tv that was labeled Satellite. It has two coax connections. Removed the plate and found two coax wires connected to the plate. However they don't have any signal. I hooked up a long coax to pigtail sat2 at the main tv ran it inside the 5th wheel to the bedroom and I have signal. Just trying to figure out what/why the connection behind the bedroom TV labeled satellite does not work. I have a dish that can run two receivers and they are hooked up. I don't want to run another line to the bedroom if I can make the one there work. Any help appreciated.

One of the "and a couple more" needs to be hooked to the "Sat 2".

I suspect the RV was setup with a DVR in the living room and you connected Sat 1 and Sat 2 to the 2 inputs on the DVR. It might also have been a Dish Network setup with a dual tuner receiver. If so, they connected to the main TV directly from the receiver and send the 2nd output to the bedroom TV via the coax you found in the bedroom. If so, you cannot use this for satellite now, but you should be able to trace that cable back to the living room and connect the Sat 2 cable to it to get the satellite signal into the bedroom. You could then run 2 single tuner receivers (bedroom and living room).

Odds are the SAT-1 and Sat-2 are straight runs to the jacks as labled.. You can testRoof-sat runs to either a dome or dish or hidden cable end on the roof.To test: At whichever end of the cable is easier to get to use a OHMMETER, You should see open circuit center to threads.Now on the other end of what you suspect is the same cable shord the center to the nut (A paper clip will do, or a test clip or ... Well even a peice of kitchen foil) You should now see near ZERO ohms on the meter If so, cable passed test and is what it claims to be.

Did this one have a jumper between the two female outlets? On my new unit there are three sat connections in the service bay but only two have any connections. Sat 1 goes to the LR TV no problem there. The Sat connection in the bedroom has two female outlets with a jumper between them. What this allows is for you to insert the sat receiver BEFORE the splitter. The signal out of the Sat receiver can then be split. Sat signals cannot be run through the normal signal splitter. There are some out there that I have read about that allow this but I have no experience with them. The jumper may be missing but I suspect that is why you see two outlets on the one labelled Satellite.

Thanks for the reply, the satellite guy who came out tried a what I think was a jumper at the two female connections that were marked satellite. I have given up and run a designated line for the BR satellite receiver. Took less time than trying to figure this mess out.
I tried what Bill suggested and that did not work so I gave in. Works fine now just a little more expense and work.

With the Quest setup (assuming it's where the 2 satellite inputs are) you would connect the Satellite Out from the receiver to the Quest and that would send either Cable, OTA TV or satellite (others, too) to the TV's. If you had an HD satellite receiver, that would connect to the main TV via HDMI and the Quest would send the SD receiver output to the other TV(s).
Have to check to make sure you don't have another coax connection outside of the bedroom (straight through the wall)? There could also be a separate feed from one of the storage bays to the bedroom where you could hook a satellite coax connection. There are so many ways someone could have rigged the coach that the only way to figure things out is to trace each coax and figure out what each was meant to do.

I think your right about Sat1 and Sat2 being straight runs. It's hooked up now and works fine. However I would like to use the connection behind the bedroom tv marked satellite. Next to that plate is the park cable connection which works as it should. Roof-sat runs to either a dome or dish or hidden cable end on the roof.

To test: At whichever end of the cable is easier to get to use a OHMMETER, You should see open circuit center to threads.

Now on the other end of what you suspect is the same cable shord the center to the nut (A paper clip will do, or a test clip or ... Well even a peice of kitchen foil)
