Newbie attempting a Directv Sat hookup on my Travel Trailer(2016 Starcraft 289BHS).I will outline my plan(Excluding the initial sat alignment procedure); please tell me if this will/should work, or if I am missing anything. Step:1)With coax,connect the dish to the Sat/Cable input on the outside of my TT.2)Inside the camper, at the "SAT" output under the entertainment center by the antenna booster and cable output, connect coax to the Directv Power Inserter("Power to SWiM" port)3) Coax connect from PI side "Signal to IRD" coax to Sat1 on the back of my receiver(H24-700 box)4)HDMI from H24 receiver to my TVI already have the dish and my H24 box from my spare bedroom at home; confirming all I will need to purchase is a Power Inserter. I shouldn't need any splitters, barrel nuts, etc. Correct?SWM setup at home, so I shouldn't need to reprogram any settings on the box, correct?Will the above outlined setup allow HD access?Thanks

Possibly. Follow exactly what you have at home and you could be good to go. Problem is most mfg dont do a good job of coax wiring. So dont be too surprised if it does not work.

I may run the coax through a window first(from the dish to the PI), to ensure it works, then try running it through the internal wiring.The setup would be: Dish->PI->Receiver->TV

I use the coach wiring and have never had a problem. I power a Winegard Pathway X2 carry out dome with it. Get a good quality surveyors tripod and get the mast perfectly level .Easier to get all three sats.Buy Dishpointer AR for your smartphone which lets you "see" the sats in the sky.

Before I switched to DISH I used a Slimline 3 SWM as that's what I had at the house.

Yep, same thing I did...Plenty available on the side of the road. Or not that expensive on line

The HR24 can be configured for one tuner but I always used it with 2 on my 18" dish. No B-Band converter required as I recall.

BTW I made a list of all the changes between home and RV. Some of those were: Dish type, TV resolution, TV ratio, HD or SD, etc. Plus IR vs RF remote until I bought a second RF remote. All of this went away with SWM and HDMI.

Ran into an issue. Looks like I have a non-SWM LNB(SL3K4NR0-01). It has two coax cables and a third smaller wire coming off of it, so my plan outlined above will not work.

Should I scrap the Power inserter for a B-Band converter? Do both coax plug into the receiver or do I only need one? I am fine with only getting SD channels if it will be easier/more simple. Should I try to find an 18" round dish instead of the slimline I have?
