I made my own cables and fittings, including rubber boots which I filled with silicone sealant before pushing the boots home over the tightened fittings.
My Cable expert 'Bill' told me some silicone sealants might not be 'dielectric'. Just a side note. It was obviously my severely corroded fittings that caused the lack of communication.
