We use an HP6520 wireless printer to scan in any documents we want to send and create .PDF files for transmission as e-mail attachments.
Never had any problems yet. If they have fax, they most likely have to have computers and .PDF files are pretty much universally used.
They should then also be able to return documents in .PDF form.
