Three days ago, my laptop with Win7 went through the auto update, as it has been doing for several years. When it rebooted, I could not launch the Chrome browser. Mozilla and Explorer were fine.
I eventually downloaded a new Chrome and reinstalled it. After the install it loaded, but would disconnect Chrome after running a couple of minutes. After about a dozen of these, it stopped having problems. I do think the issue was related to the MS update, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know how.

I've given up on Chrome. To many updates screwing up to many things. They change things to often requiring an add on to restore it to the way it was before the update. The scroll bars come to mind as well as the new tab page. There's lots of complaints being posted over at the Chrome forums but the developers seem to be oblivious to them or just don't care.
I switched to Pale Moon which seems to be just as fast if not faster then Chrome. I noticed that it's easier on memory then Chrome as well.
Pale Moon is an Open Source, Firefox-based web browser. I'm very happy with it.
