Java and JavaScript are 2 totally separate and unrelated things. If you removed Java and you haven't had any need for it since, leave it removed. Most people can do without Java in the browser just fine.

JavaScript is commonly used by many sites. The issue discussed in this thread probably relates to a bad or problematic script on a single site.

I didn't care for chrome but I will try firefox, I want to get a new computer after the first of the year as XP won't get any more updates after April 2014, Thanks for all your help. Jay

I think part of the problem is that you're running an outdated browser, which won't have the most updated Javascript engine. There are a lot of scripts being loaded on that blog, including those for tracking, advertisements, and a widget. In fact, this is what is being loaded when first visiting the Tioga and George Blog:



Since you're limited to which versions of IE you can use, I'd try an updated secondary browser such as Firefox or Chrome(full install version).
