- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IINothing in life is free! I have to pay for DirecTV service. I have to pay for DirecTV HD service. I have to pay for DVR service. I have to pay for the whole house DVR option. That final option only adds $3/month to my bill.
- buc1980ExplorerFor the one who use Genie ,do you pay anything for the system or is free?

I carry a spare dish and arm/lnb in case I have to camp long at some place where I can't use my roof mounted sk0003. I mount the mobile stuff to a Winegard tripod which I had to modify to accept the larger dish.
Just for the sake of the details, you would have either a Winegard SK-3003 (101, 110, 119 so no HD) or an SK-3005 which is full HD.

TRAV'LER SK-SWM3 DIRECTV Slimline - IvylogExplorer IIII get HD with this 18x20 dish and a SL3 lnb which bolts right on. You throw away the lnbs pictured and replace with one of these. No need for a big slimline dish and the larger tripod unless you live way north. You can probably get the 18x20 dish for free from any installer if they have not already gone to the dump.
