Trailer Audio Recommendation

I have been working on my father's 2004 Sunnybrook Titan 5th wheel, and hope this is the right place for my latest question. The 5th wheel has a 12" x 12" RCA RS2620 audio player (CDs, cassette tapes, FM, AM) in an upper cabinet. The 5 CD player has not worked for as long as I can remember. After taking the case cover off, it is obvious that CD's were jammed after being bounced around on the carousel. This doesn't look like a good setup for a travel trailer. I have not been able to get the CD player working, and the system isn't set up for using flash drives or similar digital media without auxiliary players. Does anyone have experience with other audio systems that they would recommend as a replacement? Or how to repair what I already have? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Another option assuming the amp works and IF (a big IF) your speakers are acceptable, is to use a Bluetooth adapter plugged into either an MP3 jack or Aux input with RCA jacks.

    Your system may be too far gone to use for anything, but for 'updating' an older system to use modern technology, the Bluetooth adapter (<$25) is a great value.

    Thank you for the quick responses. It sounds like a better audio system needs to be installed - along with figuring out how to keep it from bouncing around. I guess this is an opportunity to learn what's new in the world of sound and video, while also learning about tires, batteries, and the many other things a trailer needs As it sits, my father's 5th wheel bridges the use of VCRs and DVDs and has two TVs that both have CRTs and digital conversion boxes. I keep thinking it will do nearly anything I want if only I can figure out how to make it work.

    I bought a Pioneer DVD/AM/FM unit at Best Buy on clearance for $200. Sold the no name Chinese made unit that came with my 5'er for $150 on Craigslist. Also picked up a set of Pioneer speakers that were on sale for $30/pair. HUGE difference over the sound quality of the cheap paper single cone speakers the 5'er came with.

    Thanks for the reply. It's so frustrating when you buy a 20k dollar travel trailer and you take the speakers off and see that they spent like $3 per speaker. Decent speakers would have costed the manufacturer so little. So stupid.

    As stated by several others, even the vast majority of new RVs come with junk for entertainment systems. We bypassed the off-brand (Furrion) AM/FM/CD/DVD/USB/Bluetooth system that came in our fifth wheel with a Polk Audio sound bar with sub-woofer, a brand-name DVD/Blu-Ray player, and the satellite TV receiver. I stream music to the sound bar from my tablet via Bluetooth. We're full-timers and you may not want to go this far, but it sounds great!

    Crutchfield.com let it become your friend. They are real good to talk to and very helpful getting exactly what you want. If you need to cover the existing hole bigmbox stores sell 1/4 inch oak plywood that can be stained to match the existing material.

    Best advice is install a good car audio head unit. You can also go with a head unit with a touch screen that will play DVD and have a DVD out for your monitor/TV. Way to many options to list. All of the good ones will be Bluetooth as well. Swap out all the speakers and you could probably get away with the factory wiring. Downfall to factory wiring is the sound may suffer a little do to it being such thin gauge.

    I have a brand new keystone bullet with a dvd, Bluetooth, fm, etc audio unit which is garbage. From the factory one speaker doesn't work. (I check connections on speaker and head unit) and DVDs only play in black and white. I'm interested in responses to this thread. I'm thinking of putting a car stereo in with DVD player. It would have more watts and better sound.
