Traveling to east coast with Dish Network

The locals are spot beamed based on your location. You likely will not receive any 61.5 locals in NM. When you're in the east, you can call or chat with Dish support to change your service address (NOT your billing address) to your current location to receive the locals for that area. If you're in a campground or RV park, include your site number as an extension of the street address, to avoid conflicts with other Dish users using the same address.

The 1000.2's standard configuration is Western Arc. The 1000.4 standard config is Eastern Arc.

However, both the 1000.2 and 1000.4 can be made into either Eastern or Western Arc dishes.

61.5 is pretty much local networks and sd broadcast, 72.2 has everything else and unless you want the spanish channels you don't need 77,the newest dish for east arc is only 2 lnb simalar to the dish 500.if you have a dish 500 with dpp (dish pro plus)lnb just use one lnb connection,set the skew angle at 90 and aim at sat 72.7 this works perfect with 211 receiver.to aim dish go to aim dish screen, select dish 300 and sat 61.5 put in zip code the cordinates you get add 5 degrees elevation and aim about 5 degrees to the right (west) and you will hit 72.7 very easy,don't forget to run check switch you will get everything

Other than the extreme NE and SE (with the exception of trees) you will be able to receive the 129 (110 and 119 are rarely at issue) programming without issue.
There are a number of tools available to you which can help you determine the location of the satellites and assuming you have a clear view you should have no issues at all. Long Island specifically would not be a problem unless your view is blocked.
