Universal Remote for everything!

Heck, sometimes I can't even find my recliner - let alone 9 remotes...:E

try a logitech harmony. I use it for my home theater, I have about 10 remotes. This can control anything and even starts up my gas fireplace.

I bought a Lotitech Harmonies a few years ago but never did use it with much success. They prompt you for a mind numbing sequence of details about the gear to be controlled - most of the details of which I knew nothing about or cared. If you are a techie with lots of time maybe you would have better luck with one.

Actually they really aren't hard to program and once you program them which is made very easy through an online wizard or by simply telling it the model number of the device you have everything works with one button. No switching devices and all of that.

I think being a "techie" might be a little bit of overkill as far as knowledge to program a remote.

You can get remotes that control virtually every function, in any device, such as Crestron or AMX. However, they tend to be very expensive. We use them at work, touch screen remotes that generally require a dedicated programmer. The only RV applications I've seen them used are in Prevosts.

Then there are high end consumer remotes that can handle most functions in popular devices, Logitech as mentioned. But general universal remotes tend to only access the most basic functions, play, FF, pause, etc. Few able to control advance menus.

I'm still looking for one for all my personal devices myself.

Logitech is very good (and one of the more popular ones), but there many others out there.

I steered away from logitech as I heard they weren't very robust, but programming them is a breeze and IIRC can be done on a laptop.

I use universalremote (yes that's actually the name of the company). and am VERY happy with it. I went with the RF/IR remote so I don't have to point at the stupid box anytime I want to use it, and all my boxes are in a different room. This is obviously in a house, but it should apply here also..

I'm not sure about Logitech, but universal remote can control anything with a IR eye.

I have a harmony that can plug into a USB outlet and download about 30,000,000 different devices. no more keying in a dozen or two different numbers for each device.

The Harmony remotes are quite inexpensive (around $100) and will control it all. You use their online setup guide and once you have everything as you would like you save it to the remote and enjoy.
