The USB adapter has an extension-cable/stand and it seems most effective at top of desk, so is at same height as the laptop,
Desktop came out of hibernation in the early morning and connected to router. Speedtests were pretty poor, making me think businesses might suck up cable broadband at off prak times. Or, maybe wifi is not a morning radio signal :)
Signal strength seemed to waft about quite a bit, also. Did a wifi ‘Repair’ to see if desktop could reconnect – No. Fired up laptop and its Realtek adapter could not connect either. Walked 30 ft. to router to unplug/plug, and voilla - Connected PCs. Realtek monitor on laptop shows a fairly steady signal//link quality of 75//70%
This has not been addressed: What goes on w/ the router that unplug/plug seems to magically produce a connectable signal where moments before it was not?????
