Obviously I missed this in previous posts.
With electronics anything is possible, and a full reset can temporarily heal a lot of ills. Borrow or buy another router and see how it plays. They are not that expensive, and you could always return it if the problem continues.
That iswhere I think I am headed, and it means I have been misplacing the problem.
