I have no way of knowing, honestly.
Intermittent failures are the toughest things to figure out in person let alone remotely.
The only recourse you have is to move it back to where it was and see if it "works" there. If it works then the router is not the problem the distance and walls is the problem.
If it doesn't work in the original spot then:
Borrow someone else's known working one if you can for a few days.
If you can't "borrow" someones router then buy a new one, return the new one if that does not solve your problem (read the stores return policy fine print FIRST before buying as they may "limit" your ability to return PC related items).
If new ( or borrowed) router does not solve the problem then try a new USB wireless card.
If all of the above fails then go wired and don't look back...
