Somebody please explain this...moderators, tekkies, teenage geeks...anyone?
Now I have to reset the Netgear router in the morning.
Could the problem be: a) I hibernated the desktop and no wireless device was using the router, b) Cox cable modem, c) the Tivo connected to the router w/ ethernet/USB adapter instead of phone line, or, d) the cable signal amplifier in the attic ???
Can I use the house phone wiring (not being used by alarm or phone) as an ethernet wire and move the router back to awhere it was (and closer cable connector to the cable amp). The Tivo uses an ethernet to USB hardwire adapter, so if the phone wire idea works, I would need an phone/erner adapter at the router and the Tivo
