I've only read a few comments from this thread, but why do you need to connect via Ethernet? Is it for the Tivo? And did you upgrade your old Linksys to DD-WRT firmware? If so, set the Linksys to Bridge Client mode. Connect the Tivo via Ethernet to the Linksys, which will connect via WiFi to your Netgear.
If you still are having WiFi issues from your Netgear with all your computers, even with full radio signal, it could be an issue from the cable/dsl modem side. Specifically, are you losing internet? But not the WiFi connection itself? Or both?
Did you replace the Ethernet cable from the cable/dsl modem to your Netgear? If so, you may need to start looking at replacing the modem itself.
