Upgrade to Geni

Re HR34s and HR44s. DirecTV is moving towards one box that feeds Clients. Great savings in equipment costs to them. With the HR44 WiFi client even greater savings in installation costs. The savings in hard drives, RG6 and time will be huge.

My understanding is that VOD is Internet DL to HD.

Did not say it was an issue. Just pointed ou that to use VOD and other Internet required features a connection to a router is required. Easy using a DECA module but if only WiFi is available he'll need a CCK. If the installer doesn't have one, he may have to buy it and pay for a return service call. easier to do it right the first time.

Also, if considering a ground mount, for a tip$, the installed might fix OP up with a slimline, a PI and splitter.

Is there any way I can get around the rule of one Geni per account? I would like to have one in the house and one in the MH. What is the next best DVR that I could add in the MH?

The internet (or lack thereof) is not an issue any more than it would be for any other DTV receiver that could be connected to the internet. I love my Genie in my RV and it will never have an internet connection.

For OTA you need to purchase a DirecTV AM21n. Plug 'n play self-install.

Depending on the source of your locals they may install a SL5s rather than and SL3s.
