Using a HooToo for internet?

Just wondering if anyone has or is using a HooToo device as a bridge to bring Wi-Fi into their RV when at a rv park.

The fact that it is a router should improve security.

It would only slow down an amateur.
  • I have the TripMate - which allows me to broadcast my dvds I've ripped to a USB storage device (I have a USB drive and a 1TB external hard disc drive.

When my wife and son are watching different movies streaming from the device it's pure heaven!

Titan who makes the hootoo and tge TripMate makes good stuff and competitively priced.

Just remember, campground wifi is free and you usually get what you pay for.

  • You should be able to just assign an IP address in the same subnet as router to the printer and then run the Canon Wireless Install
  • I have one that looks like that
It's yellow in color and called the " Mango"

It works good with my phone Wi-Fi and Mobley account Wi-Fi

But I have been unable to make a network and use my cannon printer wirelessly

But I'm not a network expert, or maybe it just won't do that

My original intention was to load it with vpn client
So all my devices would be VPN protected
But I never could decide on which VPN service to try
So I never loaded the client software onto the mango router
  • I have the HooToo Travel Router. It works well in the motorhome to switch between my Verizon MiFi and AT&T Mobley, but I doubt it would do much to connect to the campground WiFi. A router with an external antenna option would be better.

I am not familiar with the HOO TOO products... Looks like a neat way to get on the internet using the hotel or campground WIFI signals...

They have several different models to look at on their web page.. Thanks for the heads-up... I liked this one - HooToo Wireless Travel Router, 1 USB Port, 6000mAh External Battery Pack Travel Charger - TripMate Black Less that $30...

I have been using my VERIZON MIFI Boxes to create my own SECURE WIFI signals for my camping trips... Campgound WIFI may not be all that secure hehe... Campgrounds for us is most often hard to get on their WIFI due to the many people trying to use them at same time... The downside for me doing this MIFI BOX routine is the available speed. I usually only want to check in with the kids, pay a few bills on-line, and surf the internet on a small scale..

Always neat to read about different things we can do...
