So far I have always been able to find a hole in the trees for signal. When I am at a campground that I want to return to, I will scout all the campsites and write down the site numbers that appear to have a viewable opening.
If it is the first time at a campground and sites are assigned at the office, I always ask for a site suitable for sat. They generally know which ones will work and which ones will not. But they usually also say if my site is not sat worthy, then find an empty one that is, call them, and they will reassign us if it is not already assigned.
But there are places where it is near impossible.
