Using Dish with OTA and cable 211z

I don't know about wifi availability in your area (FL)-- it's hardly a problem here in CA.

Get rid of any form of antenna.
After all the woes that I see here, I'm glad I switched to Amazon Fire TV. I ditched my latest Dish also after having to agonize with Direct TV for years. Dealing with the constant breaking up of pixels,loss of signal on a cloudy day, I figured I've had enough so I researched and found a better way. . . Amazon Fire TV.
Throw away those nasty cables, splitters, video adapters and those clunky satellite dishes. I had a tailgater that I used for a couple of years that I wasn't really happy about. I always had to make sure I park my rig away from the nearest tree. This becomes a problem because it robs me the benefit of a shady spot especially during the summer months in Southern Ca.
With my Amazon Fire, I can watch only the channels that I want and the choice of hundreds of movies without commercial.
Best of all, I pay less than half of my subscription on DISH.
Besides, this web based TV will put cable and sat subscription a thing of the past. Millions have already switched.
I use mine with a hotspot device along with my cell phone subscription. Anywhere I can get cell phone reception I get a signal to watch TV.
I use this at home and on the road in my RV.

Slightly off topic but it is amazing what a poor job RV mfrs do on AV wiring.

No it is nowhere near.
The Crank up OTA antenna and its wall plate are in the bedroom in front of the trailer and the TV and stereo are way in the back of the trailer. There is also a TV output jack outside by the front door for a portable TV. I am trying to keep it working also.

One of the problems I face is the OTA power supply / cable wall plate is in the bedroom in the front of the trailer up on the ceiling and all of the cables run from outside to the back of the trailer where the TV and stereo are. I am trying to use the already installed cables since it is good high quality RG6.

So is the TV you want to connect to the satellite receiver via HDMI not near where the OTA/Cable wall plate is located.

I know you are a new member so please understand that folks will post answers that have nothing to do with your question. This is just a fact of life. The information they post might be useful to someone and they mean to say that there is another option but that does not make it any more relevant. Don't get mad and respond in kind just know that everyone sees things differently and may question your methods unnecessarily.

Run dedicated coax from Dish LNB and connect direct to receiver. Connect OTA coax to suitable port on DVR. Problem solved. OTA channels integrated into dish program menu. You may also insert splitter in OTA coax and run one to DVR and one directly to TV.

Assuming you have an uninterrupted run from the out coax connection the the OTA power supply / Cable wall plate, all that's required is to remove the wall plate and disconnect the Cable coax connection. Install that on the single side of an A/B switch and then from the A connection run a coax back to the original connection in the wall plate and then from the B connection run a coax to your satellite receiver. That's it, A gets you cable and B gets you satellite depending upon what you have connected outside. No additional wiring or modifications required.
