So, if you have alerts set-up, you don't even need to keep checking / to keep monitoring. Verizon will alert you when you data usage meets your preset notification levels. If you are alerted you can curtail your data use until your billing cycle ends if possible, or bump up to the next data plan for a month and then bump back down the following month.
Well, maybe. I converted from the Verizon based Millenicom service to Verizon, and it took months for them to post my data usage at "My Verizon". The still don't send email alerts even though I've talked with their customer service people, reset the alerts, etc.
By the way, I have grandfathered unlimited AT&T service on my iPhone - as of January, they are increasing the cost by $5.00 to $35.00 per month...
