Verizon jet pack mifi

Anyone using this for internet access on the road? Thinking about getting one, this would be first time, having ability to use computer on the road other than free wifi spots, thanks for any info.
  • They work as advertised. Be careful for how much data you subscribe to. Anything in excess becomes expensive.
You might also consider a smartphone doubling as a Hot Spot. Works well but you still have the data limits but save money on having a cellphone and a MiFi gadget too.

Look at the one from Millenicom. It uses Verizons 4620 jet pack and you get 20 Gb per month for $69.99. We use it at home and take it with us.

You are on the Verizon towers, just like any other Verizon customer but at 1/2 the cost...we have used ours from Texas to Idaho and have not fouind a dead spot yet, however there will be areas that you will not hve a data signal, as only 70%-75% of the US is currently covered.

As a full timer, I depend on my Verizon jet pack MiFi for internet. So far, I've had 3G or 4G service everywhere I've been. I pay $50/mo for 5g of data of which I seldom exceed. No netflix or streaming videos, tho.

Millenicom is the way to go

Novatel 4620 Jetpack - Has Antenna port

$69.99 per month - no Taxes

    20 GB per month

    No contract

Exactly the same coverage as if you signed up direct with Verizon

  • Our friends have one and swear by it....they spend their time on the Oregon coast and haven't had any problems. :)

  • Yes I have the new 5510 which is my third MIFI - we have already racked up 26 camping locations this year and I only did not have service in Big Bend National Park. I am suprised how many small towns in New Mexico and Texas had 4G

If you are a vet you can get it at 15% off the normal rate. Been doing that for years. Applies to cell phone also

I got rid of the land line based internet years ago they will let you put it on vacation up to 6 months a year if you only use it on the road.
  • Ibought one, and a pay by the month plan, while we were working down in Alabama. It works very well, and we had full 4G coverage in the area where we were(Eutaw, AL). I also worked with a network connected via Hugesnet, and my 4G wifi was much faster. Now that we are back at home, when my data and time expires, I will just leave it in the MH until we need it again. Then, all I have to do is pay for another month and we are set.
  • They are great, but if you plan on watching netflix or any streaming media, be ready to pay the price! I think they give you 2GB's of bandwidth before your charged extra fees.
