Flip phone only - old - $25 a month + stuff - I almost never use it, urgent stuff only etc. Genie has phone with all bells and whistles and she keeps up with family/friends. I have 700 minutes and never use even fifty a month ... more than a week into this one 17 min.
We took off for two months in west - N Dakota, S Dakota, Wyoming etc. So, stupid me, got my Hotspot back, which I had cancelled. SO, for two months we had Hotspot ... worked as if I left it home - horrible, and it always worked well earlier - So, when we returned, we took Hotspot off the bill. We go back to $25 on my flipper. Right >>> NOPE . we still get billed for both, and now late fees because my bill never comes (online billing) BUT, interestingly enough, the late fee email arrives on time, with late fee - third month in a row, we get late fee email, but no bill first. NO luck online or phone chat. Had never set up a "PIN" for account, so no access online... and you cannot access any chat, CS, or online contact without PIN>
SO, into the corporate store down the road - where we've bought numerous phones, and Hotspot etc, over the years. They tell me they can no longer deal with billing issues, or cancellation issues, even tho they CAN sign us up, and ADD items, AND SELL us over-priced phones etc.
So, we get a number, and call - takes me a hour a least to explain it three times to someone speaking broken English ... finally ask for supervisor. Get one ... explain again. We're done, "Yes, I'll take care of it now..." Comes back on the line -- "Credit for late fees waived, bill now at original $25 + stuff ... you owe $62, includes advance payment for coming month .. paid it.
Next month: Get no regular bill for $25, but later on, get a past due bill for $83, with past due fee again. Call and call, and call never get anyone. Finally, Verizon calls me to cancel for non-payment. I explain again - OK< will fix it ... you owe $83 >>> for one month at $25 for flip phone??? Why - but he can't explain it, just wants $83 ... including late fees twice. Now, I have a check for $62 cashed which paid me current last month *DEC*... Actually, I get no bill in January, and I figure it finally caught up with the overpay. GREAT !!!
Now, today, I get a bill today for $107 AND a late fee ??? WHAT ??? How do I pay $63, and owe $107, for two *maybe three, depending on dates" months at $25 ...
So, today, I spent an hour in my account online - cannot find prior bills, only current which began a few days ago, so has NO past info.
Try to get in - site says> You can only access past due if you own the account - get permission for owner. I AM THE ONLY OWNER, had this number for twenty years. But the ROBOT don't get it ... so try again, ROBOT asks me for PIN - don't have one, can't tell it. ROBOT says: I'll send you a one-time code to your phone ... DING, it arrives .. punch in code instead of PIN - nothing... then it asks me for my P IN to continue. Tried online chat, got connected, chat ROBOT asks me for PIN to continue to live chat--- now that final hair is gone, as is my final nerve.
I have not tried the advice above - but will do that after I fail to get this resolves at the corporate offices tomorrow, as we're going right by it in the AM ... Think I better lie down ...
