Verizon Unlimited Data

I think you find that 2GB of data will not go very far when downstreaming TV or VIDEO MOVIES...

We use the grandfathered VERIZON MIFI 3GB DATAPLAN and just barely get by with checing in with the kids, paying bills online, and some surfing of the internet. Just watching one hour of downstreaming TV stations eats up around 1GB for for us it seems...

I think your best bet would be to check into the MILLENICOM 20GB DATAPLAN that uses the VERIZON NETWORK. Be sure to check for the VERIZON PLAN aas MILLENICOM also uses one on SPRINT. VERIZON will have the best all around the USA coverage area.

The MILLENICOM 20GB plan and the high end VERIZON JET-PACK PLANs are two most talked about downstreaming plans you hear on here...

I will probably go to the MILLENICOM when we want to start downstreaming TV stations. Right now we get great HDTV coverage using the OTA BATWING antenna getting HDTV from the local towns broadcasting the NATION BROADCAST Digital TV programs. We sometimes would like to watch a few of the CABLE CHANNELS when camping off the power grids...

I was given a Samsung S4 for Christmas by my daughter who purchased it for one of her lines. She gave it to me and I activated it on my line to replace a 4G Samsung Charge. I gave her the Charge which she activated on her line. It took a little while on the phone with Verizon because the SIMs had to be changed also (the phones have different size SIMs); if the SIMs were the same size we could have done the whole thing in a few minutes ourselves.

When a phone is purchased at a discounted price, Verizon considers the contractual obligation to remain with the line that buys the phone, not the line that uses it.

We are in the same unlimited grandfather data plan with Verizion and also have a 3g MiFi. I have also been considering the purchase of a new 4g MiFi. Hope this works out and would like to know the outcome. If not I wonder if you could just purchase a 4g phone or tablet and use it as a hotspot only. Even though we've only used it as data only from the gitgo for years it still has its on phone number assigned to it. We've never asked Verizon if we could move it from a data to a phone/tablet/data. What would the differance be?

We are old Verizon customers with unlimited data on our 3G iPhones. Last year we purchased a 4G jetpack and added to our existing contract. The jetpack has a data limit which we recently increased, but it had no effect on our basic old data plan. I get just one bill. I would go down to your local Verizon store and ask.

It turned out that wasn't all that difficult; my daughter had to get on the phone to tell the CSR that she was releasing the SIM so I could use it.

Just upgraded my phone from the unlimited. They convert it to a 6gb plan for the same price.

We get more than 10x the speed with 4G and we get better coverage when traveling with 4G compared to 3G.

Millenicom is the way to go. No billing problems and no overuse charges and you can use your Verizon devices. We bought out our Verizon agreement for $170 and recovered that in 3 months with Millenicom and doubled our data.

FIRST you need have two phones one dumb and one smart. And the dumb phone is up for an upgrade. Upgrade it to the new smart phone you want. You will have to add a 2G plan on that phone but that doesn't change your smart phone unlimited plan on your other smart phone. Later move the new upgraded phone to your old smart phone line and move your old smart phone to that line. Just swapping phones.
Next change that old orig dumb phone line that now has your old smart phone on it back to the old dumb phone and cancel the 2 G plan on it. Now you are back to your orig plan one dumb phone and one smart phone on unlimited. All you did was swap phones.
I ran this across a Tier 2 Verizon online service tech and she said go for it should work.

Would like to hear more from or others who have gone to Best Buy...

I would recommend going to a Best Buy. I too have a grandfathered unlimited plan, and the Verizon store was going to switch me to a new 2gb plan if I upgraded. I went to Best Buy, they upgraded me (at a lower cost than vzw directly), and kept my plan unchanged.

I spoke with a person yesterday at Best Buy reguading my old grandfathered unlimited 3g data plan. He advised me if I out right purchased a new Novatel 5510L 4g MiFi for $249.00 they could replace for the old 3g 2200 MiFi and keep my unlimited plan. I'm researching Verizon 4g MiFi's offered and at this time it seems the Pantech MH291L is one of the best 4g MiFi's.
