- tenbearExplorerWhat browser do you use? I use Firefox with Adblock Plus and never see any ads.
- dave17352Explorer1492 I loaded malwarebytes as you directed and so far so good it appears to have worked.
Thanks

When installing the FREE version of Malwarebytes(MB), you need to un-check "Enable free trial of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium". If you don't, you'll enable the paid version which will only work for a limited time until you buy a license.
MB free version uses the same scanning engine as the paid version, which includes additional features such as real-time detection. - 1492ModeratorNot accurate at all. AdwCleaner has always been freeware. Malwarebytes comes with both the paid and free versions bundled from the same install package. You have to un-check the option for the free version.
Please pay attention when installing Malwarebytes. Read the prompts and don't just click through automatically. On-demand scanning and repair is "Free"! - dave17352Explorer

Yes I was wondering about that. I have just now gone back in and it is not doing it now. But it was definitely doing it just 10 minutes ago. I do run Norton AV and have sense I purchased this computer. It should stop things like that I would think.
Norton AV won't necessarily find it as it's not likely a traditional virus. More like a browser hijack which requires specialize PUP tools.
Instead, try scanning and clean with the free AdwCleaner. Then follow up with the free version of Malwarebytes.
they say they are free but then they find stuff and say register now and pay money and fix the problem, doesn't sound like free to me - dave17352Explorer

As I mentioned, AV suites are not the best tools for removing these types of browser hijacks, as these PUPs are often attached with supposedly legit software. Or installed nefariously from outdated plugins or un-patched browser vulnerabilities. Even AV manufactures recommend using specialized tools such as Malwarebytes for this type adaware/malware.
Very good when I get a chance I am going the sites you suggested and see what I come up.
Thanks
