Want iphone for pay-as-you-go Verizon

I use Pay-as-you-go Verizon. It works good for me, I buy $100 3x a year. I don't need internet (although it's available) because I have an ipad. The phones available through Verizon for this service are crummy and hard to text with. On the website they say I can use my own device and register it with them. If I look at Amazon to buy an iphone for this what should I look for? I think I need an unlocked Verizon iphone with a simm card. Is this correct? Thank you for you help.
  • Will Verizon let you bring an unlocked phone to the plan you have? While GSM pay as you go carriers don't seem to a problem with this, the CDMA no contract carriers don't always let you. You might want to ask this question on Howard Forums that is everything cell carrier topics on the forums. Go to the Verizon pay as you go forum and ask - if it can be done many there have done it.

  • The Verizon smartphone plans start at $45.00/month.
  • Your best bet is to go to a verizon store or best buy and ask them. Sometimes it's difficult to get the information you need from their web site.
  • As far as I know if you have a smartphone you have to have data
