Waze App

Question

I am sure many of you are using this great app ( I am always the last one to find out). The problem is that I can not figure out why it will not mute the iheartradio when it needs to give an update on traffic or directions. I am using it on an Iphone 8. I have tried it with iheart and spotifly with the same issues.

I stream the radio to my car, and Waze is forced to use the phone speaker.  When I had it streaming to the car, it would mute the stream when it was making a report.

I have had it work just fine and mute the music like it is supposed to, but now I can not get it to work. The only problem that I have read about is when it mutes the music it will not start back.

I also use waze, own a samsung though but this doesn't happen to me. The only setting you can set in the app itself is turning on/off the updates so the problem here is your phone. Go to settings of your phone and maybe it is on the updates section or sound. Choose receive updates.
