We Boost

I was reading about the antenna for the roof of my 5th wheel but when reading about it it said point in the direction of the cell tower. How do you do that unless you are in sight of one in which case you would not need a signal booster??

You can buy a sensor pro (by winegard) that helps with finding signals. They are roughly $100.00 and seem relatively easy to install.

There are also web-sites to find t.v. signals. I think tvfool.com is one. You can figure out which way to point based on where you are...where the signals come from (north, south, east, west).

Personally I just point toward the nearest town. Check permanent sites to see which direction they are aiming, or find someone that looks like they are enjoying their viewing pleasure and point my antenna the way their antenna is pointing.

The we boost is for cell signals....

Well I will be...Gosh darn, those new fangled devices. I thought the OP was wanting to direct the tv antenna :S
  • Using a phone you can download the app signal check lite for free and as you turn the antenna the app will show the signal strength so that you use it to know when the antenna is pointed in the best direction.

Most hotspots have a status page or the like that will show the same dBm meter for the same effect.
  • Wilson Electronics make omni directional cell phone booster antennas that you don't have to point. We have one and it works great.
