WeBoost Install...What do the numbers mean??
I finally got to remove the cover from the travel trailer and start the install of the WeBoost Drive 4G-M.
WeBoost:
I cut a piece of steel 13" x 13" and placed it on the forward part of the roof. Mounted the magnetic WeBoost antenna in the center of the plate and ran the wire through a window to the WeBoost main unit that was in the center of the trailer. The inside antenna went at the opposite end of the trailer. I didn't want to have an oscillation issues so I kept the two antennas as far apart as I could.
Turned everything on and opened up the "SpeedTest" app on my Vertizon Iphone5s
I selected a server that was 50 miles away:
WeBoost OFF...Ping 59ms / Down 4.02Mbps / Up 1.85 Mbps
ON...Ping 63ms / Down 3.26Mbps / Up 3.58 Mbps
I then selected a server 100 miles away:
WeBoost OFF...70 / 3.28 / 0.97
ON...69 / 3.79 / 2.61
Server 150 miles away:
WeBoost OFF...67 / 3.63 / 1.14
ON...69 / 5.01 / 3.88
Next I used my Sprint HotSpot that WeBoost said would not work because Sprint now uses some new frequency that WeBoost doesn't handle:
50 miles away...OFF 158 / 2.72 / 2.54
ON 75 / 1.25 / 1.72 (The WeBoost must be affecting this device for the numbers to go down??)
Next was my Verizon HotSpot
50 miles away... OFF 108 / 1.36 / 4.48
ON 80 / 2.48 / 6.13
My signal strength meter on the phone is now running numbers instead of bars. there is very little difference in signal strength. A high of -89 to a low of -102
What does all this mean? Is this good performance?
In my driveway, I have pretty good cellular signal strength so this isn't a good test, but from my numbers, is this thing working correctly?
Why does the "Ping" go down sometimes?
Any other comments would nbe greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
