Western Digital "Cloud" device
I did not want to distract from the topic about on-line backup so I wanted to know if this device is anything special or just another hard drive backup. I would like to be able to keep all the device...

one point i did not see mentioned
the device to be backed up, has to initiate the backup process
even a wi-fi drive, is just a drive
the backup command be it manual or automatic comes from the device to be backed up
i have never seen a hhd that starts/controls the process
i think what the OP is looking for is 'wireless' Sync
where every device pc, laptop, pad etc
has every email photo etc synced to the wi-fi drive
his own personal 'cloud' at home
this still requires syncing software on each device
thats what all these 'clouds' , have in common, software on your devices always running when you are on the INTERNET, to copy your files to the cloud aka servers
