I switched from Direct to Dish. Now I have the new hopper with 2 Joeys. I have a spare dish like the one on the house. I set it up one time while camping and it took some time to get it working. What meter will work to show me when I am locked 61.5 and 72.7?
Though it took a while, I'd stick with whatever method you used -- it's cheap. Good sat meters are pricey.

Get rid of the dish and signed up for a subscription from Amazon. Check it out. No contract, no commitment, pay as you go.
With Amazon Fire TV, no more setup everytime you pull into a campground and no more coax cables to drag around.
Fire TV requires WiFi in order to stream video. Most campground WiFi is unreliable, so you'll need to bring your own hot spot. This means that you'll be burning through a lot of your data allowance.
