3G is out of date and while you do not want to pay more than $150, you will get limited affect from your suggestions and be rebuying soon. Go 4g.

verizon and ATT still aren't compatible networks and hence aren't letting one roam on the other network. there are many places where only ATT or verizon get us a signal, not both. However if someone has sprint coverage, I usually get verizon coverage and vice versa at least for voice.

Verizon is switching to VoLTE, GSM based but not the GSM/LTE that ATT network is.
voice is on the LTE band rather than the 2g/3g band like CDMA and ATT GSM phones are.

But our verizon phones are also dual mode, GSM and CDMA.

Not sure if boosting will do a dang thing down here. The service is hard wired from the provider to the modem. The plan is the highest speed IZZI offers and comes with television (ugh) or telephone (useless with my hearing).

I do not know the relation between modems and pass-through speed but I suspect there isn't a darned thing I can do about it. The signal is definitely not connected between wired and TelCel telephone. Sometimes when the internet wifi went down the celular wifi would connect.

not entirely true at all. We camp many many places with poor or non existant cell service w/o a booster. Depending on how low the signal level is and how many towers are nearby and how many users a booster often can give very good internet service.. Our weboost certainly does. If the signal is very low to start with internet may be slow. Or if you have a weak signal w/o a booster AND there are many other users on a single tower, internet may be marginal even with a booster.

But in well over 50% of the cases with a signal that is low or non existent w/o a booster we end up with useable internet with the booster. Not enough to stream video, but enough for decent internet access.

Our solution is the weboost RV along with one phone on verizon another on ATT. Ofen times GSM or CDMA (ATT/verizon) is weak or non existent even with a booster. This at least gives us two chances for service. If neither works out comes the yagi direcional antenna, which has got us a signal many a time.

Yes, there still are many places that non of this will work, you still need to be able to get a signal to the cell tower to boost.

Do not buy a 3G model. 3G is being phased out quite quickly.

I run a weboost at home and it works goood. Bought one for the camper and had zero improvement. What you have to know and remember is that you have to signal to boost. No to little signal = no boost. Where we camp there is very little to no ATT signal. We ended up buying a Verizon hot spot

avoid a 3g unit. few areas are 3g only most have 4g and no 3g so the 3g won't help,
