All my Garmins have preferences that allow me to specify what types of roads to avoid. I have noticed that sometimes the routing going one way isn't the same and the return trip and I don't have the traffic option. I assume it's probably just an artifact of picking the first leg of a trip in the SW. Not a big deal and it has taken me thru areas I probably wouldn't have taken on my own. With the avoidance options set though it has never placed me on some road that I felt was inappropriate though.
Any of my Garmins, including my old Quest 2, are far better getting me there and back than the TomTom that was in the dash on my RV though. It now sits in a box in the attic and the space in the dash has a new Kenwood/Garmin.
