Why are GPS units so much trouble.
I bought a Garmin Nuvi 5 or so years ago that worked most of the time,but occasionally went beserk.On our Christmas trip to South Carolina,it routed us one way going south and another way going north....

On our last two extended trips, one out West and one to the Northeast, the my Nuvi was very helpful, but in addition to that, we had a Rand Road Atlas (paper) and another navigator with an iPad. In some cases, it took all three and in others, the Nuvi was adequate. Just a matter of confidence in which map source you are using.
