Need some help please. I would like to figure out a way to keep an eye on our dogs while we are away from the 5th wheel. I have been told that most, if not all campground use a "captive portal"(dont even know what that is)and that i cannot use a wifi camera. I spoke to D-Link about their cameras and was told they would not work. Any ideas?? Anyone currently using a wifi camera while camping at a KOA?? Thanks

You'd need a fast internet connection.For "after the fact" monitoring you could use a game camera.

I have a wifi jet pack and the wireless camara finds it and then you can download the software from your camara and now your all hooked up. Very simple. Just don't pinch penneys as some Camara's are not to clear. We use ours to monitor the temp when we leave our dogs for a couple of hours. They love to camp in our bed. LOL

What we do Nest camera with Straight talk hotspot viewed on IPhone. We can see hear and talk to the dog if necessary. We also put a thermometer in view of the camera.

If you are like us and each have a cell phone, and you are within cell tower range, you can use Temperature Surveillance. You leave one phone in the MH and take the other.

Buy a Google Nexus phone on the FI network. Install Alfred or similar type app. FI allows you to turn on/off service. Pay for data you use. You would log in with your personal phone. Plenty of project FI reviews on YouTube. FI uses Sprint/T-Mobile combo.

I use both the Straight Talk Verizon and the ATT hotspots, and neither has any problems (for me).

By the way Staight Talk has 2 versions of 4G hotspot. Get the Verizon version as the other version has some problems.

That just monitors temp. The op wants active video, and that will ruin the CG distribution for everyone else IF you can even get it to work. an independent Hotspot is the only way to really do this
