wifi from outside the rv to inside the rv...I need help??
OK, I "manage" to get most of my 'tech stuff' handled, but this has me stumped.
Right now we're 'parked' in southern AZ. If we use our phone (4g LTE) as a hotspot we get great speed. But using the wifi that comes with our parking spot (we're on a private lot) the speed sucks, and its hardwired dsl!
I just installed a TP-Link wifi card in the pc, supposedly capable of 450mpbs. It's in an Alienware desktop that sits on the floor of our slide out, on the 'away' side of our rv, about 40(?) feet from the wall wherein the wifi router resides. (I might mention we are in an aluminum framed fifth wheel, if that makes a difference?)
If I open the TP-Link interface, it says our network "rate" is between 10-20 mbps and if we try and download anything that has video (weather channel) it is sooooo slow, the video stops multiple times just to catch up!!
What can I do about this? Is there some kind of gizmo that I can put outside our fiver to receive and boost the signal inside to the PC?
The PC is pretty much stuck where it is...it weighs 89 pounds so the floor is where it's gotta stay! (Yeah, I know, I could leave it home and use the laptop, but it's WAY more computer than my laptop, what can I say?
Anybody got any ideas what kind of gizmo I can get to boost the outside wifi to the inside wifi antennas so that my speed gets better?
Please??? And thanks!
