OK, more clarification...
On a private lot in Yuma area...two RV spots and a Casita (little house). Owner is not here yet, just us. We have the place, and the router, to ourselves.
The router is a CenturyLink, and to get it started, they had to reset it because it had been off for....six months? Now on, it sits near the ceiling in the Casita, which is about ??? 34-40 feet from where my computer sits, inside our fiver and down low.
No campground involved, no one else on this thing, just us, two computers and a phone. We've been here and on the wifi since Monday (now Friday evening) and this thing is SLOW! At home, we have cable dsl, 1000mbps, and wifi to the trailer outside is about the same distance from the router as we are here, but the speed inside the trailer here VS at home...no comparison. Almost...might as well be on dial up again.
So there we are...
Oh yeah, why is it so heavy? It's got a radiator to cool it off, liquid cooling in a computer...and it ain't new. I bought this in 2009, it's old...like me!!
